I started the gym in September 2017 having reached 60 years old and being the heaviest I’d ever been at 15st 8lbs. I started in the old gym under Stuart’s guidance having started with the Take That Step campaign. When the new gym opened I decided to attend on a morning at 6:30am up to 5 days a week. As I run a pub not much sleep. However this kick started my day.
I’ve lost over a stone and am now 14st 2lbs. This fluctuates a bit as is normal. The programme I do is changed by Luke every six weeks and it keeps me on my toes and gives me new challenges. I won’t say it is easy but when I miss a day I get really annoyed with myself. The gym has great equipment and being a bit of a techno kid I love that it is all managed on my phone and watch. I set my self goals at different times with my next goal to get under 14st by Christmas. The knock on effect is how I feel, my moods are better, I feel healthier.
My wife likes me again; I think. If I was to give anyone advice it is to start slow build up and enjoy. Since joining I’ve encouraged both my daughter and son to join. My wife is a lost cause when it comes to gyms. She’s a good cook though. Thank you to Luke and Stuart and all the great staff not forgetting the wonderful cleaner Andrew. See you all at 6:30am.
